When asked if Biden agrees with this, Psaki did not directly answer, but she made clear that while the president is very much in favor of protesting in general, he opposes violence.

Waters said she was "hopeful" Chauvin would be convicted of murder, but if he isn't, "we can not go away".

"I'm going to fight with all of the people who stand for justice", Waters told reporters shortly before an 11 p.m. curfew.

McCarthy said that if Pelosi does not act, he intends to take action of his own against Waters for her remarks encouraging violence in Minnesota if a jury does not find former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty in his trial in the death of George Floyd. "But I am very hopeful, and I hope we are going to get a verdict that says 'guilty, guilty, guilty.' If we don't, we can not go away".

"More active" and "more confrontational" to "let them know we mean business" is hardly the sort of soothing rhetoric you'd expect from a grown-up congresswoman.

I think I read somewhere that's illegal and could get someone impeached.

Waters has a history of advocating extreme measures for political purposes.

Maxine Waters, who has represented her California district since 1991, joined a crowd in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota protesting the last week's police shooting of Daunte Wright. "We have to let people know that we are not going to be satisfied unless we get justice in these cases".

Cruz added, Democrat officials will do whatever it takes to maximize government power and control. There are nearly certainly those who would seek to take advantage of any verdict the mob doesn't like by planning on looting, burning, and pillaging.

Let's hope she doesn't get her wish.
