As deliveries for the 2021 Bronco are expected to begin in June of next year, Ford continues to showcase the SUV's versatility with a new concept.

Ford and Filson also said they will raise funds in support of the National Forest Foundation's reforestation programs and to promote fire prevention awareness through limited-edition Bronco + Filson outdoor gear at Filson.com. As the name suggests, the concept combines firefighting equipment with rugged materials crafted by Filson, paying tribute to decades of first responders who trusted Bronco SUVs. While the ones we've seen so far cater to outdoorsy people and their overlanding necessities, the Wildland Fire Rig has a different application. For now, Ford and Bronco Wild Fund will donate two Broncos modeled after the Wildland Fire Rig to help wildland fire personnel protect communities and vital natural resources. Part of the iniatives include donating a pair of Broncos to firefighters.

Allowing this unique Bronco to put out fires comes courtesy of a high-pressure water pump, a 50-gallon (189-liter) water tank, and a built-in fire hose.

The news of the collaboration comes amid one of the most devastating US fire seasons in history, with more than 7.5 million acres already destroyed.

The interior grab handles on the instrument panel and centre console are painted in matching otter green, and the bring-your-own device rack in this Bronco gains a CB radio.

Filson dressed it up with canvas, leather, ripstop nylon and brass trim borrowed from its clothing and accessories catalog while the cargo area has been fitted with professional firefighting gear. The top can be opened, rolled back and secured by Filson bridle leather straps.

The money will come from a portion of the proceeds from Bronco sales (including Bronco Sport) as well as from Ford-licensed merchandise.

Although this specific auto is a concept vehicle, Ford said in July that it would be reintroducing the Bronco to the market after 25 years. The all-new two- and four-door Bronco goes on sale next spring.

The National Forest Foundation works on behalf of the American public to inspire personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests. Each year the NFF restores fish and wildlife habitat, facilitates common ground, plants trees in areas affected by fires, insects, and disease, and improves recreational opportunities.
