The provincial government said further locations will come online in the coming weeks, but did not provide any specific timelines.

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath called Ford's Tuesday announcement "disappointing", saying it didn't immediately address some of the key threats of a potential COVID-19 second wave. "Anyone at all who wants a flu shot this year can get one", said Ford. It's absolutely critical. Folks, we need your help.

Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, says the province must "not let our guard down" urging everyone to do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The Ford government says its starting up a $70 million flu immunization campaign, the largest of its kind in Ontario's history.

Launching a public education campaign to encourage getting the flu shot.

The Ministry of Education confirmed a rise in the number of schools with a reported case - 116, up from 75 on Monday - out of 4,828 schools.

There are no cases listed as active and 47 are listed as recovered.

According to the Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health dashboard, five people have died from COVID-19 to date in the region.

Eight health care workers were infected while six health care workers were listed as probable.

"We will be supplying that vaccine to residents of long-term care homes and staff members as well and people in hospitals and retirement homes and other places of congregate living", Elliott said.

The total number of cases in Ontario now stands at 48,087, which includes 2,835 deaths and 41,600 cases classified as resolved.
