According to special counsel Robert Mueller's report, Sanders told investigators that phrase was a "slip of the tongue" even though she said it multiple times.

GLAAD, the nation's top LGBTQ media advocacy organization, is calling for White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to resign after she admitted to investigators with special counsel Robert Mueller's team that she misled reporters when speaking about President Trump's firing of former FBI Director James Comey. She repeated that her comment was made in the "heat of the moment", meaning it wasn't "a scripted talking point". "But the big takeaway here is that the sentiment is 100 percent accurate".

"She also recalled that her statement in a separate press interview that rank-and-file Federal Bureau of Investigation agents had lost confidence in Comey was a comment she made "in the heat of the moment" that was not founded on anything", the Mueller report stated.

Mueller's report concluded there was not enough evidence to charge Trump with collusion, but was undecided on obstruction.

Because I never agreed to testify, it was not necessary for me to respond to statements made in the "Report" about me, some of which are total bullshit & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad)'. CNN's April Ryan Says Sarah Sanders' Head Should Be "Lopped Off'", he tweeted.

But Mueller's report found that the "evidence does not support those claims".

When questioned about the comment by the special counsel, Sanders said the comment was made in the heat of the moment.

This isn't the first instance in which the credibility of Sanders, who speaks for the White House and is paid by American taxpayers, has come under scrutiny.

President Trump, in his attempts to meddle with the Russian Federation probe, was at least partially motivated by the fear that investigators might uncover conduct that Trump himself believed could be perceived as criminal, special counsel Robert Mueller said in his redacted report. Trump has denied Daniels' claim.

The White House had failed to disclose the reimbursement. Just listen to her questions in White Houe briefings and you'll hear her ask if the president is a racist, for example.

Giuliani said the counter-report would be released once the public has had a chance to read the Mueller findings.

"This now documented, on-the-record, under-oath episode, I think it completely obliterates her credibility", said Kyle Pope, editor-in-chief and publisher of Columbia Journalism Review.

Muellers two-volume, 448-page redacted report was released Thursday.

Ryan continued to rail against Sanders, suggesting the press secrecy has sparked threats against her and her colleagues, allegedly prompting Ryan to get personal security and her colleagues to have moved from their homes. "If you're caught in a lie, you should acknowledge it and figure out whether you can fix your reputation".
