Samsung Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8 with Infinity Display Launched in India

It has brought about changes in the display hardware that delivers a 18.5:9 aspect ratio to provide an end-to-end viewing experience and more browsing space. Galaxy J8 will be available from July 2018 onwards. Galaxy J6 will also be available on Flipkart while the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will also be available on Amazon starting May 22.

The Galaxy J6 has a 5.6-inch HD+ display just like the A6, but with some cuts elsewhere in the spec sheet. Thankfully Samsung has not skipped on any of the sensors and this means that the Galaxy S comes with Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic sensor and also a Pressure sensor.

Samsung has priced the 4GB/64GB variant of the Galaxy J8 at Rs 18,990. The Galaxy A6 comes in 32 GB and 64 GB storage editions. Prices of the two Galaxy A6 variants are Rs 22,990 and Rs 21,990 respectively. Consumers buying Galaxy A6+ and A6 through ICICI Bank credit cards or Paytm will get an additional cashback of Rs 3,000. Samsung is making all four phones available in it online estore as well as on Paytm Mall.

Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy J6 (above) and Galaxy J8 today in India. The expandable storage support is 256GB. The front-facing camera is a 16-megapixel lens with f/1.9 aperture. There's also a 3,000 mAh battery and Android Oreo. These cameras come with dedicated LED flash.

Samsung is pitching the A6 and A6+ as the more premium offering of this latest collection with its metal body design (pictured above).

Galaxy J6, A6 and A6+ will be available across our retail stores and Samsung eshop website from May 22. Samsung Mall app uses Artificial Intelligence to let users shop by clicking a picture of the desired product and automatically getting results for the item across popular e-commerce platforms. The panel features an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution.

The new smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There's a dual-camera system on the rear comprised of a 16MP main sensor and 5MP secondary, as well as a 24MP front-facing camera, both with LED flash. Galaxy J8 sports a dual camera setup at the rear with 16-megapixel+5-megapixel sensors, PDAF, and LED flash. All these phones also run Android Oreo software, which is a big differentiating factor from Samsung's past affordable phones.

The Galaxy A6, on the other hand, has a 5.6-inch 720p+ Super AMOLED display and is powered by an Exynos 7 Series processor with 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is expandable by up to 256GB via a micro-SD card. The Galaxy J8 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded to up to 256GB.
